We know how devastating it can be for an individual when he/she loses their job, especially if it was unforeseen or handled poorly. Our Employment Law team deals with dismissal matters regularly and can explain the law and your rights in a clear, no-nonsense manner to help you through this stressful situation.

What Types of Dismissal are there?

We can provide legal advice on dismissal matters in the following areas:

  • Unfair Dismissal - Unfair dismissal occurs when an employee has been dismissed and claims against their employer that the decision to dismiss was unfair. You may for example have been unfairly selected for redundancy.
  • Constructive Dismissal - Constructive dismissal occurs when an employee resigns from his/her employment as a result of a fundamental breach of their employment contract by their employer.
  • Settlement Agreements - In some cases of dismissal (or redundancy) your employer may draw up a settlement agreement. This is a legal termination contract between an employer and employee and is often used when the parties have an issue or problem with each other.
  • Wrongful Dismissal / Breach of Contract
  • Redundancy
