About Pam Deol

Pam Deol is Head of the Contentious Probate Team at Sydney Mitchell.  She has a broad range of dispute resolution experience of nearly 25 years including property disputes and Professional Negligence claims. Pam specialises in Will Disputes, Inheritance Act claims, Contentious trust and probate work.

Pam manages a mixed caseload and represent clients on Inheritance Act Claims for Claimants and Defendants, trustee’s disputes, claim against executors, estates, beneficiaries, dispute between executors and beneficiaries, removal of executors, proprietary estoppel claims, Will rectification claims, interpretation and construction of the Will, contest probate if there is no Will, challenging Wills, deal with Caveats. She has experience of dealing with very complex estates especially with high value, multiple properties, company shares and international assets. Pam has settled numerous matters by way of negotiations and Mediation.

Pam feels personal satisfaction from achieving successful results for her clients. She takes pragmatic approach to understand the clients’ legal position, their circumstances and give them practical, cost-effective advice on crucial decisions. Pam grasps an accurate overview of a situation and her experience in Civil Litigation has taken her through a plethora of cases, from fast/multi-track claims to the Court of Appeal involving property disputes..

She is experienced in both the Chancery and Contentious trusts and probate work. Pam is a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Pam is also a Notary Public. Pam is fluent in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu Languages.

Recent Cases

Pam is currently dealing with and supervising several contentious probate matters which are at different stages and also use London High Court for issuing many proceedings with Counsel from 5 Stone Buildings with whom she has a longstanding relationship. Pam has recently settled an Inheritance Act claim issued against her clients who were executors of the estate worth £1.4m by the deceased’s widower at Mediation which also involved settlement for a minor. Pam has dealt with many claims with estates worth multi million pounds and has many ongoing matters in the Birmingham and London High Court. Recently Pam successfully removed a co-executor with an order for costs against him of £25K in London High Court, settled an Inheritance Act claim against an estate worth £10m, currently contesting an Inheritance Act claim, proprietary estoppel claim against an estate in London which has international assets.

She has organised large-scale charity ‘dinner-and-dance’ events helping raise much needed funds for charities.

Pam has held Legal Talk show/Surgeries on Raaj Radio and Radio XL for many years.

She enjoys travelling, experiencing different cultures and meeting new people.

To keep fit, Pam enjoys yoga, working out and enjoys walking. Pam is married with three children and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
