About Amanda Holland

Amanda is a Senior Associate at Sydney Mitchell LLP. Amanda provides advice on all areas of family law.  Every family lawyer provides advice on the Law.  Where Amanda excels is that she also provides support and practical advice working to ensure the best outcome for families. She is committed to the Resolution Code of Practice.

Amanda became a Family Lawyer in 1994. She is a member of Resolution and a collaborative lawyer. Amanda is a member of the West Midlands Collaborative Family Law pod and has contact with a wide range of experts including family therapists, life coaches, mediators, barristers, financial advisors, pension's advisors, surveyors and accountants. Amanda was a finalist of The Law Society Awards Legal Executive of the Year. She represents clients both in the UK and abroad and can advise on:

  • Divorce, nullity and judicial separation
  • Dissolution of civil partnerships and same sex marriages
  • Finances, particularly high value financial claims; including businesses and pensions and assets out of jurisdiction.
  • Interim maintenance applications during family proceedings
  • Protecting assets – S37 Matrimonial Causes Act 1973
  • Injunction proceedings - non-molestation and occupation orders
  • Children disputes including arrangements for children - where they will live and with whom they will spend time, Specific issue orders – e.g. disputes as to where a child will go to school, changing a child’s address.  Prohibited steps orders – to prevent a parent taking action – changing schools, removing a child from England and Wales and internal re-locations – changing the area the child normally resides at.

Career History

Amanda has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since 1994.

Throughout her career she has advised on a wide range of family matters.  Amanda was involved in the Boldmere Traders Association which gave her an insight into business, working with the Local Authority and the problems faced on the High Street.  During that role she helped organise various events in Boldmere and remains a friend of the Association.  Amanda was also a school governor.
