Law firm’s service simplifies organisation’s HR and employment law management

A service solution aimed at boosting businesses HR functions and keeping them on top of the complex ever-changing employment law landscape is available from the specialist Employment Law team of local firm Sydney Mitchell.

The Employment Armour service is a fixed fee annual retainer employment law service, that simplifies the management of HR and employment law matters for a business, regardless of its size.

Dependent on the company’s size and number of employees, the service is four-tiered for organisations with up to 10 employees, 11 to 50 employees, 51 to 150 employees, or 151 to 250+ employees.

Company’s using the Employment Armour service work with one of Sydney Mitchell’s specialist, qualified employment solicitors, who act as its own dedicated, assigned employment law and HR expert, delivering tailored employment law advice.

Included in the service is support and assistance with internal training, employee relations, performance management and legal compliance. The service also offers an optional enhanced ‘in house’ package of up to three hours of training or workshops at client’s premises and specifically for senior managers.

Emma-Louise Hewitt, Head of the Employment Law team at Sydney Mitchell, leads the Employment Armour service. She says: “Employment Law is complex and ever-changing. Most recently for example the Employment Rights Bill was introduced late last year, along with amendments to Sexual Harassment in the Workplace laws that are part of the Equality Act 2010.

“Keeping on top of such huge changes, as well as the seemingly never ending amendments, whilst ensuring the business has the right policies and procedures in place to guarantee compliance with them, can seem a very daunting task. This is where our Employment Armour service comes in. Its retainer operation simplifies the management of HR and employment law matters for a business, regardless of its size, and gives them unlimited employment advice from a qualified employment solicitor who alerts them to employment law changes and the potential impact on their operation, business and workforce. It’s a clever, agile solution for every company and its need to remain completely abreast of the law and comply.”

Sydney Mitchell’s Employment Armour solution includes:

  • Unlimited employment law advice from a qualified Employment solicitor allocated to your organisation.
  • An initial audit of your staff handbook and contracts and identifying areas of improvement.
  • An annual health check thereafter of all your policies and procedure.
  • Staff handbook and employment contract updates in line with legislative changes.
  • Bespoke letters to help you manage your HR procedures.
  • Advice over the telephone or email in relation to HR matters including queries relating to disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, flexible working and redundancy.
  • The option to handle any Employment Tribunal claims through a nominated insurer (additional cost).
  • Fixed fee monthly billing.

“Our employment law team is dedicated to ensuring a client’s business remains compliant with the latest legislation, while efficiently handling any HR challenges the business may face, freeing owners and its senior team to focus on the core business activities,” says Emma-Louise. “Employment Armour is the latest enhancement to our corporate services to achieve this strategic goal.”
