Family Solicitor
We are looking for a junior family law solicitor with a passion and drive for assisting clients who are experiencing relationship breakdown. This is an opportunity to join our well-established and Legal 500 ranked family team based at our office in Sheldon working closely with the partner who leads the team. She is our Senior Partner and joint head of our Family Law team and is recognised by Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in the field. You will work on a varied case load covering all aspects of Family Law.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Experience of handling a range of family matters including divorce, financial remedy and Children Act matters.
- Managing your own caseload and the ability to organise your work and meet deadlines.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- 2-4 years PQE or equivalent (ideally).
Property Litigator
The successful candidate should ideally be between two and five years PQE. This level of experience has been given as an approximate guide for applicants but we are happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this level but who have the relevant knowledge/experience, together with the enthusiasm for this particular role.
The role is full time and based in the firm’s Birmingham office. Flexible and hybrid working options can be considered.
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
- Contentious landlord and tenant matters acting for both tenant and landlord in residential and commercial property matters.
- Boundary disputes.
- General property disputes.
- TOLATA claims.
- Professional negligence claims relating to property.
- Commercial and general litigation experience would be useful in assisting the commercial litigation team where necessary.
And skills in:
- Using word, excel, pdf docs (or similar) and a case management system.
- Advocacy when required.
- Working as part of a team and under pressure.
- Building on the excellent reputation already established and help to develop their offering.
- Taking an active part in firm wide business development.
- Providing an excellent standard of client care and be able to manage client expectations.
- The role involves significant client contact and therefore someone with strong communication and client care skills is a must. You should be able to work under supervision, meet tight deadlines and as part of the dispute resolution team.
Contentious Probate Solicitor
The successful candidate should ideally be ten years PQE. This level of experience has been given as an approximate guide for applicants but we are happy to consider the applications of candidates who fall outside of this level but who have the relevant knowledge/experience, together with the enthusiasm for this particular role.
The role is full time and based either in our Birmingham City Centre or Shirley office. Flexible and hybrid working options can be considered.
The ideal candidate
- A contentious probate solicitor with ten years plus PQE.
- Have excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
- May have contacts in the local market and some following of work.
- A confident communicator who is comfortable undertaking business development activity/networking.
- Ideally, you will be ACTAPS qualified but this is not essential.
And skills in:
- Using word, excel, pdf docs (or similar) and a case management system.
- Working as part of a team and under pressure.
- Building on the excellent reputation already established and help to develop their offering.
- Taking an active part in firm wide business development.
- Providing an excellent standard of client care and be able to manage client expectations.
