Dean is a Partner and head of our Dispute Resolution team. He also leads our Birmingham office alongside Leanne Schneider-Rose.
Dean is an experienced litigator and specialises in both commercial and employment disputes.
Dean also has considerable experience of acting as a court appointed Supervising Solicitor in relation to search / delivery up orders. Dean is also an experienced mediator and has conducted over 50 commercial mediations as the lead mediator.
Dean qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and joined Sydney Mitchell in 2003. Prior to that, Dean worked at the national law firms Pinsent Masons and Hammond Suddards (now Squire Patton Boggs). Dean has been recognised in the Legal 500 for the last 10 years. He was President of the Birmingham Law Society in 2011, Chair of the Dispute Resolution Committee between 2009 and 2019 and Finance Director for the Society between 2012 and 2018. Dean is also a member of MENSA.
Dean has been shortlisted in a number of legal awards: Partner of the Year in 2014 (Birmingham Legal Awards and the Law Society Excellence Awards) and Legal Personality of the Year at the 2011 and 2014 Law Society Excellence Awards.
