Recent Cases

  • The Claimant was involved in an accident during the course of his employment as a Facilities Manager. Owing to the Claimant sustaining multifaceted injuries, medical evidence from a multitude of disciplines namely a Neurologist, Neuropsychologist, ENT specialist and Psychiatrist. In addition, the Claimant had suffered from an exacerbation of his pre-existing back pain while he was absent from work owing to the injuries sustained in the accident. The Claimant had not sustained a back injury in the index accident however the medical evidence from a spinal specialist was required to determine whether the Claimant’s pre-existing back problems would have rendered him unable to work in the absence of the accident.  The claim involved complex arguments in relation to causation however the matter settled in the sum of  £200,000.

  • The Claimant sustained a severe crush injury to his foot during the course of his employment at a nursery involving a forklift truck . The Claimant was absent from work for a period of 6 months owing to the complex nature of the crush injury and the requirement for surgery.  Liability was admitted subject to contributory negligence. The early admission of liability has allowed the Claimant to engage in rehabilitation arranged by the Defendant Insurers via their treatment providers. The Claimant has received extensive physiotherapy and psychological therapies which has facilitated his return to work albeit on reduced hours.  Medical evidence was obtained from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Podiatrist.  The Claimant was awarded £100,000.
