Sydney Mitchell team running for Solihull charities

A thirteen-strong team from Sydney Mitchell will be lacing up their trainers for this year’s Knowle Fun Run on Sunday 17 May 2026 with their eyes on the finish line and a £500 fundraising target for two Solihull charities.

From seasoned distance runners to first timers, the Sydney Mitchell team is taking on the Knowle Fun Run, organised by the Knowle & Dorridge Lions Club, to raise money for Carers Trust Solihull and Marie Curie Solihull, which both support members of the local community.

Sydney Mitchell is a long-time supporter of Carers Trust Solihull, which provides vital help and support to carers in and around Solihull who are caring for loved ones with dementia, physical or mental health issues, or learning disabilities. Every day, the charity’s team works tirelessly to support unpaid carers who are looking after their loved ones, often with little recognition or help.

From its Hospice on Marsh Lane, Marie Curie Solihull helps people with an illness they’re likely to die from, and the people close to them, to receive specialist care and support for free. This includes Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, heart, liver or kidney and lung disease, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s and advanced cancer.

Through runners’ entry fees to the event, the Knowle Fun Run is also raising money for its own chosen charities – Headway, the UK-wide charity that provides support and information services to people after brain injury, and Meningitis Now, the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of meningitis.

Kelly White, Head of Marketing at Sydney Mitchell, is part of the team. She says: “By taking part in the Knowle Fun Run, we’re aiming to raise both important funds and also awareness for both of our chosen charities. Both Carers Trust Solihull and Marie Curie Solihull provide vital support, care and resources for the local communities at what is the most difficult time of their lives, both for the patient and their family. Whether it’s helping provide expert nursing care or giving carers the support and resources they deserve, every penny donated in support of our team of runners will go towards making a meaningful impact.

“Anyone able to contribute, no matter how big or small the donation, will help us cross the finish line knowing we’ve made a difference,” says Kelly.
