Roy is a Partner and Head of the Corporate and Commercial team, advising businesses and individuals on high-value, complex transactions and strategic growth.
He has extensive experience across the full corporate lifecycle and acts for a diverse client base, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, established companies, LLPs and franchise operators. Roy is known for delivering clear, pragmatic and commercially focused advice on transactions and board-level strategy.
Roy trained and qualified with a regional Birmingham law firm into its corporate team in 2011. He joined Sydney Mitchell LLP as an Associate in 2015 and was promoted to Partner in 2021. He is trusted by boards and business owners to guide them through critical commercial decisions and transformational change.
Alongside his legal practice, Roy plays a leading role in national sport governance. He has served as Deputy President of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) since January 2023 and sits on the LTA Board. He will take up the role of President of the LTA for a three-year term commencing on 1 January 2026. Roy has volunteered in tennis for over 20 years in a wide range of roles, including club and county positions, international tournaments and charitable foundations.
Based in Birmingham, Roy is married with two young children. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and spending time with his family.
