Sydney Mitchell LLP raises £10000 for charity

Sydney Mitchell pledged to raise £10,000 in 2013 for its nominated charities; the Maria Watt Foundation and the Birmingham Women’s Hospital Neonatal unit, Tiny Babies Appeal.  The firm chose to raise funds to mark its 250th year in business and to celebrate winning Law Firm of the Year in the 2013 Birmingham Law Society Legal awards.

In front of a 70 strong audience at Sydney Mitchell’s professional networking event, held at Purnell’s Bistro in Birmingham, Div Singh, Senior Partner, presented a cheque for £5,000 to Eileen Rock of the Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity.

Div Singh, Senior Partner, Sydney Mitchell commented:

We are extremely pleased to have been able to reach our target of £10,000 over the year for our two nominated charities and would not have been able to achieve this without the support of our staff, regular attendees at our professional networking events and our clients who have supported the many fundraising events held over the year.

These events included our Annual Charity Quiz Night; a Balloon Launch; Charity Ball; Raffles; Charity Bake Off and numerous Dress Down Days.

It is a real pleasure to be able to present a cheque for £5000 for such a worthwhile cause and we are pleased that the charity will be able to put the money to good use.

Eileen Rock, Fundraising Manager, Birmingham Women’s Hospital Charity said:

We are delighted with the fantastic support we have received from Sydney Mitchell LLP. The employees have thrown their heart and soul into supporting the “Tiny Babies, Big Appeal.

The funds raised will be used to purchase additional Neonatal medical equipment and in turn, enable our staff to care for more sick and premature babies on the unit. On behalf of the babies, their families and all the staff at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital, I would like to say a massive thank you to all the employees and to everyone who has supported Sydney Mitchell with their wonderful fundraising.

Sydney Mitchell continues its fundraising in 2014 for the same charities and the first event is the 6th Annual Charity Quiz to be held at the Orange Studio in Birmingham on 25 February.
