Changes In Hips - Time To Get Ready

Since the launch of the Home Information Packs in August 2007, the Government has introduced it for all properties in stages, starting with properties with four bedrooms and above, followed by three bedroom properties in September. Since December of last year, all properties on the market require a HIP.

At the moment the requirement is that a HIP is ordered at the time the property is put onto the market, From the 1st January 2009 there will be two significant changes occurring.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007

The act introduces a new offence of corporate manslaughter and applies to companies but not individuals, e.g. directors. It replaces the common law offence of manslaughter by gross negligence for companies.
