Celebrations For Sydney Mitchell As They Scoop Top Award

West Midlands Law firm Sydney Mitchell successfully walked away from the Birmingham Law Society Awards on Thursday 20th March 2008 with the award of Law Firm of the Year (under 15 partners).

The Awards were held at the ICC, Birmingham where Sydney Mitchell was up against two other short-listed local firms in the battle to win this prestigious award.

The win comes at an exciting time for the firm, so far this year the firm has seen considerable growth in its commercial litigation department, celebrated its first successful year as Solicitor Estate Agents as well as continuing to build on its reputation as one of the leading firms in the area for private client services.

Commenting on the win, Senior Partner Richard Holland said, "To win this award is not only a great honour for the firm, but is also a reflection of the diligence and hard work of all our staff. Winning this award helps to further enhance the firm's profile and reputation in the area."

Sydney Mitchell is a well-established firm that has been providing legal solutions for nearly 250 years. The firm has 11 partners, five associates and over 130 staff spread across its three offices.

As well as being known for its private client services such as family, wills and probate, conveyancing and personal injury, the firm also specialises in legal services for businesses. Since the end of 2007, the Commercial Litigation department has been steadily growing in size, with four people joining the team over the last few months, including a new partner, Peter Adkins who specialises in Licensing and Gambling Law.

The recent growth demonstrates the dedication Sydney Mitchell has in developing the firm. With its strong and experienced team of legal specialists and support staff, coupled with the recent success in the Birmingham Law Society Award's, 2008 has certainly got off to a good start.
